Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) can enhance recovery and improve outcomes after plastic or cosmetic surgery by delivering concentrated oxygen to healing tissues. The increased oxygen levels help:
HBOT is often used as a supportive treatment before or after procedures like facelifts, liposuction, tummy tucks, breast reconstruction, and skin grafts.
While not required for every patient, it may be recommended for those at higher risk of complications or delayed healing.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) can support the treatment of serious or chronic skin infections by delivering 100% oxygen under pressure, which enhances the body’s natural healing response.
The high oxygen levels:
HBOT is commonly used as part of a treatment plan for skin and soft tissue infections such as, infected wounds, diabetic foot ulcers, and radiation-damaged skin.

A study published in 2019 examined the effects of hyperbaric oxygen on wound healing as it has been found to have positive preconditioning effects in animal models.
Patients who received preoperative HBOT were compared with patients who did not receive HBOT. The study determined the efficacy of preoperative HBOT, conducted before abdominoplasty, on postoperative complications.
"Based on the beneficial effects of preoperative HBOT in our study, it could be argued that the use of preoperative HBOT preconditioning could potentially benefit patients undergoing several other surgical procedures. The treatment is safe and well-tolerated and can be easily conducted for most patients."
