🧠 TYPES OF NEUROLOGICAL TRAUMA TREATED BY HBOT

Trumatic brain injury (TBI)

Mild TBI (Concussion):
- HBOT will reduce post-concussion syndrome symptoms (e.g., headaches, brain fog, fatigue, dizziness, nausea, loss of balance).
- Studies show improved cognitive function, sleep, and mood with symptoms resolved.

Moderate to Severe TBI:
- Reduces brain edema, improves mitochondrial function, and promotes neurogenesis (new brain cells) with all negative symptoms resolved.

Stroke

Stroke (Ischemic) – caused by a clot or blockage, or a bleed in or around the brain.

HBOT with subacute and chronic phases:
- Enhances oxygenation to the penumbra (area around the infarct which is a shadow in tissue seen in inflammation)
- with motor recovery, improved speech, and cognitive function.
Most benefits are seen when starting early, but evidence supports late-phase therapy as well.

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a mental health condition triggered by experiencing or witnessing a traumatic event.

Symptoms include:
