Dementia & Alzheimer's

  • Dementia: A general term for memory loss and cognitive decline (many causes).

  •  Alzheimer’s: The most common type of dementia, with specific brain changes.

1. Improved Brain Oxygen

Alzheimer’s is associated with reduced blood flow and oxygen delivery to specific areas of the brain.

· HBOT increases oxygen availability by delivering 100% oxygen under pressure.

· This boosts oxygen delivery to damaged or hypoxic (low oxygen) brain regions, improving cell function and survival.

2. Enhanced Brain Energy Metabolism

Neurons in Alzheimer’s patients often suffer from impaired energy production.

· HBOT stimulates mitochondrial function—the "powerhouses" of cells—leading to:

  • Better energy production
  • Increased neuronal activity and repair
  •  Improved brain blood flow
  •  Enhanced processing speed
  •  Enhanced executive function

3. Reduced Neuroinflammation

Chronic inflammation in the brain is a major driver of Alzheimer’s progression.

· This slows the degenerative process by reducing inflammation-induced damage.

· HBOT reduces inflammation and calms an overactive immune response in the brain.
